Isparta University of Applied Sciences (ISUBU) established the Distance Education Application and Research Center (ISUBU-UZEM) to conduct distance education activities within an institutional framework. This center carries out research, development, implementation, and strategic planning related to distance education for all academic and administrative units of the university.
ISUBU provides the necessary technical infrastructure to support distance education activities. Course content offered through the Learning Management System (LMS) is enriched with materials such as text, animation, and audio, offering students 24/7 access. Additionally, e-studios are utilized for live classes, enabling simultaneous interaction between instructors and students.
Strategic Mission and Capabilities UZEM aims to provide an education program independent of time and place, particularly when distance education becomes a necessity due to reasons such as pandemics or natural disasters, and where increasing accessibility is functional. The center boasts a strong team consisting of programmers, administrative staff, and academic personnel specialized in measurement and evaluation.
Advanced Infrastructure: Using advanced technologies in terms of hardware and software infrastructure, the center has rapidly completed its institutionalization and become ready for education with live (synchronous) classes held via Adobe Connect.
Mobile Access: Faculty members and students can log in to the system via mobile devices from anywhere and at any time, using platforms supported by many mobile phones such as the AppStore and Google Play.
Rapid Adaptation: It is a center capable of quickly implementing the necessary infrastructure, training, and applications to ensure departments can continue their education without interruption in extraordinary situations.
Common Courses Since the courses Turkish Language I & II, Foreign Language I & II, and Principles of Atatürk and History of Turkish Revolution I & II are common courses university-wide, they have been delivered via distance education since the pandemic period. Consequently, the existing distance education infrastructure facilitated a fast and easy adaptation process for both students and staff during the sudden transition to remote learning.
