Our department supports participation in various student exchange programs to enrich our students' academic experiences at international and national levels. Through the Erasmus+, Mevlana, and Farabi exchange programs, our students find the opportunity to study at different universities, engage in cultural interaction, and enhance their academic background.


1. Erasmus+ Program

The Erasmus+ Program is an exchange program supported by the European Union that allows students to study at partner universities in Europe for one or two semesters.

Within the scope of the program, students can:

  • Study at selected European universities,

  • Count most of their courses towards their own degree requirements,

  • Benefit from grant support during their study period,

  • Gain international experience by getting to know different cultures.

  • What is the Erasmus+ Program? It is the European Union's grant program in the fields of education, youth, and sports.

  • What is Erasmus+ NOT? It is not a foreign language learning program, a "scholarship" program, or a "diploma" program.

  • Who can benefit? Associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students registered in formal education at ISUBU can benefit from the program.

  • What are the types of student mobility?

    • Student Mobility for Studies: Taking courses at another university with which our university has an agreement. (Duration: 3 to 12 months).

    • Student Mobility for Traineeships (Internship): Mandatory or voluntary internships at any enterprise abroad. An inter-institutional agreement is not required. (Duration: 2 to 12 months).

  • What are the requirements for participation?

    1. Being a full-time student registered in formal education.

    2. Having a GPA above a certain threshold (2.20/4.00 for associate/undergraduate; 2.50/4.00 for graduate/doctorate).

    3. Having a sufficient ECTS credit load (60 ECTS) for study mobility.

  • Will the courses I take abroad be recognized here? Yes. The correspondence of the courses to be taken abroad with the courses at ISUBU is determined by your department coordinator and department head before you go, and is finalized with a Learning Agreement. Course compatibility (compatibility of credits and learning outcomes) is essential.


2. Mevlana Exchange Program

The Mevlana Exchange Program is a program that supports the exchange of students and academic staff between higher education institutions in Türkiye and universities in different regions of the world.

Through this program, students have the opportunity to:

  • Study at universities outside of Europe,

  • Gain a global academic perspective,

  • Get the chance to know different education systems.

Unlike other exchange programs, mobility within this program covers higher education institutions all over the world without any geographical discrimination.

Mevlana Program Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Who can participate? Associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students registered in formal education programs at all higher education institutions in Türkiye (those that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol) can participate.

  • What are the application requirements?

    • Associate and undergraduate students must have a GPA of at least 2.50/4.00.

    • Graduate and doctoral students must have a GPA of at least 3.00/4.00.

    • Evaluation is based on 50% Language Score + 50% GPA.

    • Freshman (first-year) students in associate and undergraduate programs cannot benefit from this program for their first semester.

  • Do students pay tuition fees to the host institution? Students continue to pay their tuition fees/contributions to their home institution (ISUBU). They do not pay any additional tuition fees to the host higher education institution within the scope of the exchange program.

  • Scholarships during the Mevlana Exchange Program: Students participating in the program may be paid a scholarship up to three times the monthly scholarship amount paid to undergraduate students, at rates determined by the CoHE Executive Board.


3. Farabi Exchange Program

The Farabi Exchange Program is a national program aiming for student exchange between higher education institutions within Türkiye.

Within the scope of the Farabi Program, students can:

  • Study at different universities in Türkiye for one or two semesters,

  • Experience academic diversity and a new university environment,

  • Benefit from scholarship support when necessary.

Farabi Program Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How long is the exchange period? Students can continue their education at another university for only one or two semesters.

  • Who can apply? Students studying in the preparatory and first classes of associate and undergraduate programs cannot benefit from the Farabi Exchange Program. Other students may apply.

  • What are the application requirements?

    1. Being a registered student at ISUBU.

    2. GPA requirement: At least 2.00/4.00 for associate and undergraduate students; at least 2.50/4.00 for graduate and doctoral students.

  • How to apply? The Farabi Exchange Program Coordination Office announces the application period. Students wishing to study at our university via Farabi should apply to the Farabi Coordination Offices of their current universities.
