The Department of International Trade and Business was established as a school by the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2010/103, published in the Official Gazette dated February 26, 2010, and numbered 27505. It was granted faculty status by the Presidential Decree No. 2704, dated June 29, 2020, and published in the Official Gazette dated June 30, 2020, and numbered 31171. The department admitted its first students in 2019.

Since its establishment, the department has produced 23 graduates. As of May 17, 2025, it continues its educational and academic activities with a staff of 4 faculty members (2 Associate Professors, 2 Assistant Professors) and 1 academic staff member (1 Research Assistant). Additionally, a master's program with a thesis in the namesake department has been admitting students since 2020.
